‘Andalucia Collection’

October 16th, 2011

This new collection of Bea Jareno Jewellery , The Andalucia Collection, is inspired as its name suggests in this amazing, beautiful, full of color and life region of southern Spain. Arid colours, earthy and vibrant of these wonderful stones Quartz rondelles representing the landscape and mountains of the region, combined with the already well-known handmade textured  links from the Afiok collection and ended with leather cords of different colours and very easy to exchange. Makes this a celebration of this region of Spain where half of Bea’s family  comes from, this collection is dedicated to my family, to this wonderful region of Spain, Andalucia and to the warm hearted people of Spain, their land and their culture. I love Spain!

The start of my ‘Jewellery making’

August 24th, 2011

Today, I will like to tell you a bit more how I started to make Jewellery.

About fourteen year’s ago, when I lived in Stoke Newton,   there was a beautiful row of shops in the Church Street. I discovered a Jewellery shop/studio called ‘Metal Crumble’, it was in this shop that I bought my first handmade ring, Design and Made in this very shop just for me!!I though it was the best thing ever, the shop had this beautiful, relax and inviting feeling to it. My ring, was of a polish design in silver with an oval amethyst cabochon stone…….

img_5339.JPG

After that one I went and bought a simple, chunky silver thumb ring which   I later lost it along with the first ring I made for myself, in the Indian Ocean while I was at Argonda beach.

I decided, I wanted to try a course in Jewellery Making, this was a three month evening classes and I absolutely adored it! I made myself my very first ring!!!It was so exciting and felt just right that I thought I could one day have my very own shop/studio, so this is how it started….I worked really hard for one year to make enough money to pay for my studies, tools, material’s etc, then when I started my studies , I was going to college Monday,  Tuesday and Wednesday and working Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s for two year’s, after I graduated in 2004 with Distinctions, I went to St’ John Cass for one year, then it was time to set up my studio….since I worked real hard setting my studio/business, taking part in exhibitions and showcases, working part-time and if this is not enough, I had my lovely daughter, Sofia, in 2007.  Well, reading this I realised how busy I had been since I started this Jewellery adventure.

Today, I feel I achieved a lot, I now only working for myself, my daughter is nearly four year’s old, I have a wonderful studio, I have been invited to exhibit my work in many fantastic Galleries around UK and Europe,  show my work in the very best Fair’s including ‘Origin’ The London Contemporary Craft Fair and ‘The Contemporary Craft Fair’ @Bovey Tracey, Devon, my work is been published in two books and featured in many publications and web-sites and I feel so proud of myself and my daughter for such a journey….I meet very nice people along the way and so my journey continues as I keep on working to have my Shop/Studio sometime in the near future for I believe if you work hard towards something you will achieve it, sooner or later, just keep focus, be happy and look ahead!!make the best of every day and keep smiling! ;););)
