July 3rd, 2011

I had a fab time at the ‘Contemporary Craft Fair 2011′ as it was my first time exhibiting my work there, I found a vibrant, beautifully organised and magnificent exhibitors, I absolutly loved it!!! my family also had a great time as the  entertainment for children and craft activities were amazing.

I finally meet my next stand neighbour Christine Kaltoft and her husband which were very nice and great fun , the beautiful Karen Dell’Armi  which I am looking forward to see at ‘Origin 2011′, the very talented Adele Brereton  , Dazzle Exhibitions colleague Emily Thatcher , the amazing Suzanne Potter and cached up with the very lovely Helen Brice  and brillliant Tanja Ufer  which I both meet last year at ‘Origin 2010′ while exhibiting there.

The ceramics were also plenty and just out of this world!, I adore ceramics and I had the opportunity to meet the all equally talented and wonderful people Katrin Moye , Iain Rylatt  and  Gemma Wightman.

The level of Crafts was very high and It was plenty to see and admired, I had the opportunity to meet new Galleries , wonderful  customers  and my bright new display worked really well with my work which I am developing further for ‘Origin 2011′ so came to visit me at Stand D44 and be Dazzle with my new Work and Display!!

‘Wimbledon Art Studios’ open Studios

May 14th, 2011

I went to visit the ‘Wimbledon Art Studios’ Open Studios today. Split in two buildings, the blue and the red, houses a vast majority of painting artist combined with photographers, a few ceramics and a couple of jeweller’s and there are well on the way in extending to a third building, considered at the moment the biggest Arts Studios in Europe.

I meet  a very nice ceramics artist Jill Sutcliffe sporting the marvelous ring by Tanja Ufer which is in the flyer for ‘The Contemporary Craft Fair’ at Bovey Tracey (one of my next shows), one of those coincidence of life!!!!

I was hoping to find  my next studio here, unfortunately gas bottles are not allowed in the buildings……..so the search continues……….

Ana de Costa’s Travel Blog

April 29th, 2011

I followed Ana de Costa’s Travel Blog , a fantastic Jewellery Designer with a great sense of humor and a very frank and open person to my liking……… I do like people which tells me how they fell and how they think and don’t try to dress it up with how wonderful and happy they are at all times, specially when their reality is very the opposite!!!! we are all human and life comes with its ‘ups’ and its ‘downs’, it is just the way it is………whats more, what it really frustrate me is those who are prepare to put their ’self interest’ before everything and everybody to gain something meaningless and in the meantime, while they are missing the ‘big picture’, they go and stand on the rain and shout ’shit is raining’………… Anyway, I like to thank Ana for her blog and her honesty as I definitely identified with many of the things she says…………This one below is her final blog………..

by: Ana De Costa

As I file this last blog, I am smiling to myself at how the journey has come full circle…. I am currently sat in the VIP lounge at KL airport in Malaysia waiting for my connection to London. However, surprisingly I am not hitting the free booze… Iam calm, relaxed and serene!

I have had the most amazing amazing time…. I have completely rebalanced and energised myself, it’s amazing the benefits a few weeks in the sun and swimming in the sea can have on the mind and the body…. Those who know me will see a brighter, lighter and happier Ana coming back to them…. I was exhausted before I left and felt my sparkle was fading a little from the pressures of life and one thing or another….

None of us know how long we have on this planet, but one thing this trip has done is reaffirm the joy that can be had in life and often it’s the simplest things. I have made lots of decisions, from small things such as giving up smoking to bigger decisions like how I can split my time between London, LA and Bali…. This is my long-term goal, but for now the most important thing for me is enjoying the now and the journey- not living in the past or too far into the future, enjoying today… I am blessed to lead a charmed life of travel and self indulgent expression through my work, and I am truly grateful for this.

I hope you have all enjoyed reading my blog and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Retail Jeweller, the fabulous Laura, Kate and James for encouraging me to write this and allowing me to write so openly and honestly.

I am sure you will like to read more of this fantastic  blog so please follow the link…..
